Hi everyone,
JUST ordered my new G4 laptop. Not too knowledgable about macs. If I install virtual pc, can I also install a copy of XP pro that I have? That version has all the microsoft software that I need: word, powerpoint, excel etc.
OR do I need to buy Microsoft Office for Macs which also contains those apps?
Anything else a new Mac owner should know??
THANKS so much for any advice!!

Re: PC/ MAC ?
Mon, February 6, 2006 - 5:38 PMWith VPC installed, you should be able to install and run PC software albeit with a sizeable speed/functionality loss. (VPC isn't very good at what it's suppossed to do.)
I suggest going with MS Office for Mac - you'll be much happier with its performance and all your files that were created in PC should be readable by MS Office Mac -

Tue, February 7, 2006 - 8:57 AMThanks for the help! I would need VPC to run a new copy of Adobe Acrobat correct? Does Apple make a similar program, and if they do what's it called?? -

Tue, February 7, 2006 - 9:11 AMAdobe Acrobat has a Mac version. www.adobe.com/support/dow.../product.jsp
BTW, the Preview app that came with Mac OS X pretty much does the same things as Acrobat. Give it a try. -
