Hello, I just installed 2gb of memory in my Macbook Pro Core duo. It is working perfectly, despite what the manual warned that I had to use 2 modules of 1gb each.
My question is if there is a way (maybe thru software) to increase the memory up to 3 or maybe 4gb. I ask because this model is supposed to only support up to 2gb max.
Thank you very much.

Tue, October 23, 2007 - 6:27 AMThank you for the link, but my problem is that I have a core duo and it seems not to be possible to expand the ram more than 2 gb. I dont understand this limitation taking in account that I have one spare space for more memory. I originally had 1gb and know I have 2gb in one chip, but it doesn´t seem to be possible to have both working at the same time. -

Tue, October 23, 2007 - 2:46 PM"The tests that follow show the performance of different paired and non-paired memory configurations. Apple Core Duo processor equipped models are limited to a max of 2.0GB Memory Addressable, while Apple Core 2 Duo equipped models allow up to of 3.0GB Memory addressable." OWC
If it works well with the 2gb single stick, great. If you have the original 512mb chip, you could put it in slot 2 and see if it sees both. Someone else here might know how to test for addressability. -

Re: Macbook pro Memory
Tue, October 23, 2007 - 3:26 PMThere's a free utility called Rember
www.versiontracker.com/dyn/mo...x/24508
It a user friendly gui for the command line memtest and should test the usability of the 512mb/2gb configuration -
