Re: N3235w (viewsonic 32"HD Monmitor) and Intel iMac
Fri, November 16, 2007 - 9:23 AMAnd now we're baffled! You haven't given us much to go on, here. ;)
What have you tried? Have you thoroughly researched DVI (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI), the connector on your iMac (www.apple.com/imac/specs.html) and the HDMI connector on the ViewSonic (www.viewsonic.com/products/...5w/#specs) ?
I ask because if you're using the HDMI connector on your monitor to the DVI connector on you iMac, you may be running into trouble. DVI is both analog and digital, and the cable needs to be configured to carry the one you need, which is whatever the monitor wants. The HDMI port on the ViewSonic is going to want digital, and MAY require HDCP, which I'm not sure the iMac uses. The VGA port on the ViewSonic, however, wants an analog signal, so you've got to be sure to use a good DVI to VGA adapter/cable.
Are you sure you've told the ViewSonic to use the right input?
