I too apologize. I am not aware of what got deleted either, nor was I aware of any animosity. Tedward, I may have come across sarcastic but I was genuine. I understand conspiracy, the Rico act and going too far. When I say we have the right to speak it was merely "This is the application you need to do what you want to do" If the FBI was looking for me for that... They would also have o shut down Google, after all that was where I found what I needed. Mouthing off to a judge is never a good idea even if it's just for putting quarters in someone else's meter. No stress ~ no worries.

Ok guys, As much as I would love to get into a political debate about freedom of speech, what is legal and what is not, I would like this ended now. There are two great solutions for 2 great products to do what you want to do listed in the beginning of this thread. That is the point of this Tribe, to help each other, not condemn. Doubtless. Let's start by first saying that he was an idiot. He went VERY far into detailed explanations on how to do things. even talking people into doing it that were a little on the fence. Next he had a crappy lawyer, and finally he got lippy with the judge. Not a great combo. But even if he was smart about it, the chatter online got some very suspicious eyes on him, and that's what most people would like to avoid. BTW first amendment rights do not extend to conspiracy, assault, or premeditated intent. If you and I start planning on how to destroy the ... statue of liberty, that's conspiracy to commit a felony, and worth a couple of years. If we plan more than one job, or drugs get involved, then it's the Rico act. Just saying. Don't believe that the first amendment gives you the right to discuss anything, anywhere.

Sorry, I don't give in to FUD. Making illegal copies will get you in trouble. However, it is lawful to make archival backups of anything you have.

We I do have "capital" ideas, but if you got it working. excellent. Oh, I've made a few infractions of the law in the past, it's just that people get awfully comfortable just blathering any old thing on public boards, sometimes without realizing the legality aspect. A buddy of mine is in prison for multiple counts of accessory to grand theft for teaching people how to share their video collections with a private bittorrent tracker. Unlike email, the things you post here are publicly traceable.

It is NOT illegal to make copyies of anything. You CANNOT redistribute anything that has stipulations against that in the EULA.
