Hi,
I am trying to find a good school to start a multimedia and web design course. Sadly the schools I have found cost about 14,000 a year CRAZY! I have no problem teaching myself really. Does anyone have any advice out thier? I know o lynda.com and I've heard of the element k online training anyone have any advice? Simply lost in a sea of information.

Mon, January 28, 2008 - 5:02 PMThe Adobe "Classroom In A Book" series has historically been excellent, and if you actually go through and do the exercises is a darn good option. Are you aiming for Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) status, or just learning more? I've gotten a lot from various NAPP videos and heard good things about Lynda.Com online training, but the Classroom in a Book series worked best for me. -

Learned InDesign in like a month with a couple DVD's from them.

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 1:59 PMI also vote for Lynda.com. You can have access to view all their training videos for $25 a month. No restriction. I'm self taught and using Lynda videos was a large part of it.

Wed, April 23, 2008 - 2:04 PMExploring on your own is good - Lynda.com is good - I'm sure that there are great books too. However, the key to any of these is working on projects. Start a website, or a series of artworks that you'd like to share, so that you have some motivation to spend hundreds of hours using photoshop, then you'll learn to use features because you need them, and the knowledge will stick, since it has a practical use.

and , to tell the truth , even Tribe.net® has forums for just about a n y topic What Adobe® product are you trying to master , Brittney ? They have a couple . taught myself uniX using one of those laminated $4.88 ' uniX for dummies ' cards one can purchase most anywhere using the adult learing model : learning by doing
