      I just have to wonder why anyone would buy a speaker system that is tied to one platform or connection.
      
      Why not just buy some nice, general purpose speakers instead?

          can't imagine the speakers from radio look good. If it's gonna be in my space, shouldn't be an eyesore.

            That's true.
            
            But we are talking about speakers. Should your primary focus be on how it looks, or how it sounds?
            
            Plus, what if you upgrade to another player with different connection in a year or two? Of course, it's your choice but good looking general purpose speakers seems like a much wiser investment to me.
            
            Though I will admit some of these really amuse me.

                  Well, I bought it. And it's great. Not cheap, but sounds good, looks good. Has rca, usb, s video inputs also!!
                  
                  supporting the economy with the tax rebate!
