Thinking about getting the Apple TV device. I understand I can stream from my laptop and rent movies via iTunes...
But does it also act like a DVR/TIVO where I can record broadcast programs?

You could, however, get a TV tuner PCI card for a MacPro or PC (if you've got one) and stream shows to the AppleTV.

So far ( a few hours of usage) it's pretty cool and we like it.
