Send the drive in for data recovery to a reputable company.

If you have data that is mission critical, you MUST have a redundant back-up. You have several options:

    Retrospect to a second drive
    Time Capsule from Apple
    Mirrored array
    Raid 5 Array
    Online back-up service
    Burn DVDs of everything

I'm sure there are other options I've forgotten. My personal choice is Raid 5, five 1TB drives, if any one fails, the rest can reconstruct the lost data. Another recommended redundancy is to buy a drive for every client, keep their data off site (at home if you work in an office, at the office if you work at home, in safety deposit box, at your parents' house, etc.).

Raid is awesome I just learned about that. Maybe for my birthday.

Diskwarrior Fixed the problem and I just bought a new External HD and I am backing everything up through Time Machine.

        All's well that ends swell
Them U S B flash drives makes pretty good backup devices , too , depending on how many terabytes of data you have
